About us
Hello world, we are Team CLOUDS (Calcium Carbonate Light Observation Under Stratospheric Dynamics and Scattering).
A student-led project from Justus Liebig University Giessen and University of Applied Sciences Mittelhessen involved in the REXUS/BEXUS programm

The mission
Help combat climate change with stratospheric research

We study how calcium carbonate aerosols affect solar radiation in the stratosphere, contributing to climate engineering research.
As global warming intensifies, Solar Radiation Management (SRM) is gaining attention. CLOUDS investigates calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) as a potentially safer alternative to sulfate aerosols through in situ measurements.
Our experiment will fly on the BEXUS 38 balloon at 25–30 km altitude.
